Fulcrum

I have these riverbeds
Underneath my eyelids
That try to wash away
The images I have of you

I find that when the water
Does overflow unto my face
I’m only reminded more of you
It’s like you’re etched into my skin

Written in the crevices of my pores
Threaded into my fabric
And if heart’s had fulcrums
I would be sure to die without you

Thus, you’re like mulch
For when I do start to wither
You nestle into my essence
And forge these riverbeds.
