Qui Vive

I started writing new poetry
When I met your smile,
That sometimes, I catch my lips
Motioning to the syllables in your name.

Hence I remember you in my heart,
It is in the luminosity of your spirit
That sometimes, I’m subtly beguiled
I want to be in, and around you.

So my fantasies are somewhat barren
And my dreams are as sour as grapes
That sometimes, my body is an insomniac
For I need to feel your love.

But, I started writing new poetry
Because more times than most
I stare at your face in hope
That one day I might taste your lips.
