Let me peer into your essence
That I may write a poem or two
About your peerless infatuation.

I want to hear my name in the pauses
Of your short breaths
As I explore your anatomy.

Implore the scores of scratches
You’ve benevolently plunked in my back
To steal the breath out my lungs.

I want to rattle the snares in your thighs.
And when there’s a pause in my strumming pelvis
Let it sing songs about bodies..

..Colliding with and confiding in.
Erupting like a volcano,
Shaking the leaves they arouse.
